I found a ceramic flower that I?????m convinced was made to either start a conversation or end one. It?????s a medium-sized peony, teal in color, the kind of hue that makes you wonder whether the artist was drunk on seawater or desperate for attention. The flower has a keyhole in the back, which means it?????s meant to be wall mounted?????it?????s not a flower for your table, no. It?????s art. WALL ART DECOR, they call it, which, frankly, sounds like an overstatement, considering the thing looks like it?????s trying to be abstract artwork but isn?????t quite sure how to make it happen.
I?????m not sure where it fits. Maybe in a nursery room, where, at least, you can convince yourself that a teal peony is "vibrant" and "whimsical," instead of simply out of place. Wall hanging
Works on drywall, plaster, or wood panelling. Drive a small screw at a slight upward angle, leaving the head proud of the wall. Slide the keyhole slot on the back over the screw head, adjust to level. Sits flush — no visible hardware.
No stud? No problem. A drywall anchor rated for the weight works fine.
Displaying a collection
Lay everything out on the floor first. Start with your anchor piece, build outward. Keep 2–3 inches between each piece and aim for the centre of the whole arrangement to land around eye level. Use painter's tape on the wall to map positions before committing to any screws.
Table & shelf display: Equally beautiful propped on a shelf, mantle, or side table. Pair with books, candles, or a small pot.
